Here's how I remember it: We came to the center of the ring and tapped gloves and then set up to go. We were both kinda feeling each other out and I thought "If he's not gonna go, I am" and threw a left jab and got into the clinch. I think he hit me with a shot coming in, too. Not sure.

We ended up against the cage and I pounded him with a good right hook to the face. He tried doing a hip throw and I felt solid as a rock and executed a trip throw on him and just rode him down to the canvas. He somehow scrabbled back to his feet and tried throwing me again and again I drove him into the canvas. I attained the mount and started throwing blows to his face but he covered up pretty well so I started working his body.

Then, to my delight, he rolled to his stomach and I got my arm around his neck but didn't have my hooks in. He was kind enough to roll back the other way so I could get my hooks in and stretch him out for the choke. I can't wait for the DVD to see how accurately I did remember it...

MANY, MANY thanks to Sifu Kyle Alexander, Professor King, Sifu Tim Mayer, Randy Butler, Jim, Nate, Curtis, Wally Jones, Tim Teigen, Tom Wells, Adam Vilander, Shanti Webley, Eric Scott, and anyone I may've forgotten who helped me prepare for this fight. Also, thanks to EVERYONE who showed up and offered their support the night of the fight.
